  Archerfield Airport

 

Archerfield is the major General Aviation Airport in Brisbane. There are many Flight Training Schools and Light Aircraft Services Centres based at the airport providing services ranging from Joy Flights to Aerial Work.

  Brisbane Airport

  Bundaberg Airport

 

Bundaberg is serviced several times daily by regular Airline transport from Brisbane Airport, with the flight time approximately one hour. Lady Elliot Island pictured, is the only coral island on the great barrier reef with an airstrip. It's just a 25 minutes scenic flight from Bundaberg. Fly there or stay longer at the resort for a totally relaxing holiday.

  Cairns International Airport

 

Cairns is the heart of the Tropical North, and as such provides an ideal base for exploring and enjoying the rich, varied pleasures of this region. The Cairns International Airport, a short ride from the city centre, acts as a gateway to the city and a primary access point to the Great Barrier Reef.

  Caloundra Airport

 

Caloundra City is located at the southern entrance to the Sunshine Coast, a region stretching from the cool, green of the hinterland mountains to the blue and white of the ocean and beaches. The area is renowned for its proximity to the granite needles known as the Glass House Mountains.  The sheer walls of these volcanic plugs punch up to the sky, a spectacular backdrop to the rolling farmlands behind. The view across the Glass House Mountains from Mary Cairncross Park is unforgettable.

  Cloncurry Airport

 

Cloncurry is known as the freindly heart of the Great North West. Cloncurry's aviation highlight is the Royal Flying Doctor Services (RFDS), Museum and Art Gallery, the John Flynn Place (pictured). Here the pioneers of the RFDS are remembered and honoured.

  Cooktown Airport

 

Cape York Peninsula is one of the world?s last wilderness frontiers, and remains a vast land mass with few people and prolific wildlife. Gateway to this region is Cooktown, so named for Captain Cook?s stay here in 1770 when repairing the "Endeavour "which was damaged on the Great Barrier Reef. The Airport is located 7.5 km from the town centre.

  Coolangatta Airport

 

If you like sun, surf and sand, unpolluted air and a relaxed lifestyle, then you/ll love the Gold Coast! Coolangatta Airport is located on the Gold Coast is serviced by Domestic Flights. The distance from the Coolangatta Airport to Surfers Paradise is approximately 20kms. International Flights arrive in Brisbane at the International Terminal which is approximately 80kms from the Gold Coast. Shuttle Buses are available to the heart of the Gold Coast with light aircraft and helicopters available for rental at the Airport.

  Emerald Airport

 

Emerald is located in the Queensland Central Highlands is a gem of a place in more ways than one! On the Central Queensland gemfields you can find high quality sapphires & zircons. Dig them yourself or visit fossicking parks & underground mines.

  Hervey Bay Airport

 

Hervey Bay was discovered by Captain James Cook in 1770 whilst travelling the east coast of Australia. It has now become a progressive city providing excellent tourist facilities and attractions including whale and dolphin watching. From Brisbane, Sunstate Airlines and Flight West Airlines have several daily flights to Hervey Bay.

  Longreach Airport

 

Longreach is located 1205km north west of Brisbane on the Landsborough (Matilda) Highway and 689km west of Rockhampton on the Tropic of Capricorn. The Stockman's Hall of Fame (pictured) and Outback Heritage Centre is leading the way in this regard with a number of other increasingly popular attractions such as the Qantas Founders Outback Museum.

  Mackay Airport

 

Mackay's spectacular airport terminal offers a memorable first impression of Mackay for tourists and creates a distinctive feeling of having arrived in North Queensland. The airport terminal won a most prestigious design award from the Royal Australia Institute of Architects.

  Maryborough Airport

 

Nestled in a curve of the broad Mary River, and named for the wife of Governor Fitzroy, Maryborough was first settled in 1847 as a wool port and is one of Queensland's oldest cities.

  Moranbah Airport

 

Moranbah was established in 1970 as a dormitory town for mines at Goonyella and Peak Downs. Today it is a hub of activity servicing local coal miners. Moranbah is situated approximately 200 kilometres south-west of Mackay. The townsite was originally part of the Moranbah holiday area of which 11750 acres have since been added. The town boasts good shopping facilities.

  Mount Isa Airport

 

Surrounded by the beautiful Selwyn Ranges, Mount Isa is the mining, industrial and commercial capital of Northwest Queensland, Australia. This picture beside the Riversleigh Fossil Centre, commemorates Miners who suffered and endured the hardships from mining in the early days. The airport is located 7.5km from the town centre.

  Normanton Airport

 

Normanton sits on a high, sandy ridge between the edge of the Savannah grasslands which extend to the West and the wetlands extending to the north. Established on the Norman River by William Landsborough, Normanton was the port for the Croydon gold rush and is a terminus of the historic Normanton to Croydon Railway with a classic example of Victorian architecture preserved in the Normanton Railway Station.

  Proserpine/Whitsunday Airport

 

Lying close to the beautiful Whitsunday resort area, Proserpine is the business centre for the Whitsundays, Airlie Beach and Shutehaven. Tourism also plays a major role in the area, with visitors arriving to stay a while or pass through on their way to the Great Barrier Reef. Proserpine is the closest major airport to the Whitsundays, a tropical haven for young and old.

  Rockhampton Airport

 

Rockhampton is only 30 minutes from the Capricorn Coast and is regarded as the Gateway to Central Queensland. The Fitzroy River and the Berserker Ranges, including Mount Archer, are two of the City's most prominent landmarks. Rockhampton is regarded as the Beef Capital of Australia, and is also situated within close proximity to Australia's largest coal producing region, the Bowen Basin.

  Sunshine Coast Airport (Maroochydore)

 

The Sunshine Coast Airport (approximately half way between Caloundra and Noosa) is owned, operated and developed by the Maroochy Shire Council. It is the principal airport for the Sunshine Coast region and is the only local airport capable of servicing jet operations. The airport supports a number of regular public transport (RPT) services (with Boeing 737 and Shorts SD360 aircraft) and a variety of general aviation (GA) activities. The activities are in-keeping with the increasing demands of tourism, passenger traffic, general aviation and commercial opportunities.

  Toowoomba Airport

 

Toowoomba and Golden West is a vibrant area filled with great country hospitality. In the heart of South East Queensland Country is Toowoomba, situated on the crest of the Great Dividing Range. Toowoomba is the Garden City of Queensland. The arrival of Spring is celebrated every year in September by the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Visitors flock to the city from far and wide to tour the award winning gardens and experience this week-long event of fun and festivities.

  Townsville International Airport

 

Townsville International Airport is a centre of aviation in the North Queensland Region. The Airport situated on a coastal flood plain between Rowes Bay and the Bohle River, some 5km west of the Townsville city centre. For the visitor, a host of scenic attractions await to be explored. Both reef and rainforest are within easy reach, and heading inland leads you to the historical regions of the gold rush era of a century ago. Two World Heritage Areas - the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area - are close by. Townsville also boasts one of the best scuba diving sites in Australia- the Yongola wreck.

  Winton Airport

 

This is Waltzing Matilda country - the region that inspired famous Australian poet A.B. "Banjo" Paterson to write the poem that became Australia's unofficial national anthem. Winton is now the home of the Waltzing Matilda Centre, a state-of-the-art museum which was opened in 1998 as a tribute to Australia's national song and the Australian character. The airport is located 5km from the town centre.
